Terms & Conditions

Last updated: April 27, 2026

Welcome to Opencamp. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of opencamp.dev and the services provided on it (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Opencamp is an interactive coding academy. Users can browse courses, read markdown guides, solve coding challenges in an in-browser editor, follow developer roadmaps, and author their own courses.

2. Eligibility & accounts

  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
  • Accounts are created by signing in with Google. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You agree to provide accurate information (such as your username and full name) and to keep it up to date.

3. Acceptable use

When you use the Service, you agree not to:

  • Use the Service for anything illegal or harmful.
  • Upload, post, or author content that infringes on others' intellectual property, is hateful, harassing, or otherwise abusive.
  • Attempt to break, probe, or exploit the Service, its infrastructure, or other users' accounts.
  • Scrape the Service in a way that disrupts other users or violates rate limits.
  • Misuse the in-browser editor to attempt to attack the platform or third parties.

4. User-generated content

When you author a course (including topics, markdown guides, code challenges, and video links), you keep ownership of that content. By submitting it to Opencamp, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute it on the Service so we can show your course to learners.

You are responsible for the content you publish. You confirm that you have the right to share it and that it complies with these Terms.

5. Credits

Some features may consume "credits" associated with your account. Credits have no cash value, are not transferable, and may be adjusted, expired, or revoked if we believe they have been earned or used in violation of these Terms.

6. Intellectual property

The Opencamp name, logo, design, and platform code are owned by Opencamp. Course content authored by other users is owned by those users and shown on the platform under license (see Section 4). You may not copy or redistribute course content without permission from its author.

7. Third-party content

Courses may include embedded YouTube videos and links to external resources. Opencamp does not control, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy of third-party content, and your use of it is governed by the third party's own terms.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to us or other users. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (such as ownership and disclaimers) will survive.

9. Disclaimer

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We don't guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the educational content will fit a specific purpose. Use it as a learning tool, not as professional advice.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Opencamp will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Service.

11. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date when we do. Continued use of the Service after the update means you accept the revised Terms.
